Listen below to the tracks “It Had To Be You” and “Always”, taken from the album.

In 1973 Harry Nilsson released “A Little Touch Of Schmilsson In The Night”, an iconic album of classic twentieth standards, beautifully arranged and re-imagined by Gordon Jenkins, Frank Sinatra’s arranger and conductor. In 1988 it was re-released as “The Complete Schmilsson In The Night”, following the discovery of some out-take tracks found in London.
It is this version that I have recreated here. Michael Haslam, my Musical Director, transcribed all of Gordon Jenkins’ orchestral arrangements from the album for piano. The one notable missing instrument from the original recording is the piano.
I performed  the World Premiere of this album as a live concert at The Pheasantry, London on June 21st 2013 to great acclaim. At the point of release of this recording, Michael and I are about to embark upon a tour of the UK with the concert. May 2014.

Produced by Peter French.
Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Rick Campion.
Musical Director and Pianist, Michael Haslam.
Recorded at City University Music Studio, London.
Design / Artwork by Barrie Crowhurst.
Photographs by Luke Matthew Woodford.
